Giant Fish Attacks Mermaid At Chinese Aquarium
A giant fish attacked a mermaid at a Chinese aquarium. That’s not what you want to have happen on display!
Thankfully, she was okay but was left with a cut below her eye. The whole thing was captured on video which shows 22-year-old Masha gracefully gliding through the tank before the giant fish opens its mouth and clams down on her head! Her head! This is all happening in front of an audience who look on in horror. Eventually, she fights her way free and swims to the surface. It’s believed that the fish was possibly a great sturgeon but that isn’t known for sure at the moment. You can check out the viral video shared by Mail News on YouTube below.
Did A Giant Fish Attack A Mermaid At A Chinese Aquarium?
The incident happened at Xishuangbanna Primitive Forest Park in China. According to TMZ, Masha was reportedly offered roughly $96 in moral damages after the attack. It sounds like the aquarium is trying to keep this all on the hush and doesn’t want it getting out. You can’t blame them. This can’t be good for business. However, this was in front of an audience of people! They’re clearly going to talk about the crazy thing they witnessed at the aquarium! This is totally going to get out and the video is already going viral!
You can see a picture of her injuries provided by TMZ here. The YouTube video shared by Mail News has a caption that reads, “This is the harrowing moment a giant fish attacks a young mermaid performer’s face in front of terrified children. Watchers screamed in horror at the sudden attack at the Xishuangbanna Primitive Forest Park, in China. The ‘mermaid’, known only as 22-year-old Russian performer Masha, is seen in an aquarium tank gliding through the water while wearing a bikini top and tail. She waves to families as fish swim past her. But as she slowly moves to the surface a giant creature bobs above her head. It then suddenly clasps its huge jaws around her face which caused people watching on to scream and shout out in terror. But the animator manages to break free within seconds and quickly surfaces. The giant creature ate Masha’s goggles and nose clips, and wounded her head, neck and eye, according to reports. The incident was in Xishuangbanna, China, where the Russian woman works. Reports in the Russian media say the woman was forced back into the aquarium despite being in agony from a neck wound. She was offered some £78 in ‘moral damages’ after the attack but was barred from talking about it as her bosses at Xishuangbanna Primitive Forest Park tried to ‘cover up’ the incident. The freshwater aquarium boasts native species from the Mekong and Yangtze Rivers, as well as other rare amphibians. Reports do not specify the type of fish that staged the attack.”
Pretty crazy! Imagine being in attendance and seeing that. If you had dreams of one day becoming a water performer like her then that dream likely came to an end that day. You don’t want to be the person getting attacked by a fish while underwater pretending to be a mermaid. That’s their environment. They are going to win. Ironically, it’s you who would be the fish out of water inside the water, if that makes sense.
