What Are The Most Sexually Curious States In The USA?
Have you ever wondered what the most sexually curious states are? Wonder no more! The research is in!
Every state is a little bit different than the next. It could be weather, customs, food, interests, and more! Now, we’re learning that not every state is the same when it comes to being sexually curious. Some are more open minded than others it turns out. Some like to get freaky in new and wonderous ways while others like to keep it to the same old routine. With Valentine’s Day coming up, it’s good to know where your state stands. MattressNextDay conducted a study to find the most sexually curious states in the USA. To find their data, they analyzed more than 5.5 million sex-related Google searches and now we have a look at which states are more vanilla than others and which ones like to get freaky in new and exciting ways. Is your state one of the most sexually curious states in the country?
Analyzing The Most Sexually Curious States
MattressNextDay‘s research showed that New York was the most sexually inquisitive state in the country. Their data found 197 sex-related searches per 10,000 residents. I guess this makes sense. New York City is a melting pot filled with all sorts of people and that includes the sexually curious.
Coming in at 2nd on MattressNextDay‘s list is the state of California. Personally, I expected this to be number one on the list. California just seems more open minded and you have the counterculture movement, hippies, and lots of free love types there. It’s an easy going state and I would have believed it would have been at the top of the list. Second place isn’t bad, I guess. California had lots of searches for BDSM (per MattressNextDay) which would go against my theory thinking it was free love and hippies. BDSM seems to be a different crowd.
Texas comes in at number 3 on the list created by MattressNextDay and that’s another surprise for me. When I think of Texas, I don’t think of them being very curious. Sure, things are bigger there but I would have guessed that they were more reserved and conservative in the bedroom. It looks like I’m wrong. Texas had a lot of interest in the 69 position, per MattressNextDay.
Georgia and Colorado round out the top 10 on MattressNextDay‘s list. That’s followed by Utah, Nevada, Maryland, Virginia, and Illinois. I’m not surprised Utah made the list. If anything, I would have guessed they’d be a little higher. It seems like they’d be curious about a lot of stuff and doing research online given the culture and psychographics there.
Martin Seeley, CEO of MattressNextDay, says, “Our in-depth analysis not only reveals the diverse interests across states but also highlights a broader trend of sexual curiosity and openness. It’s encouraging to see people actively seeking information to enhance their relationships and personal satisfaction. However, it’s important to remember that a healthy sex life is closely tied to good sleep habits. As couples explore their interest this Valentine’s Day, I encourage them to also prioritize quality rest, which can significantly boost intimacy and overall well-being.”
Should have known a mattress and sleep comment was coming given the source, but I can’t help but agree. There’s no place like bed. See the full list from MattressNextDay here.
