Happy Turtle Wins The Internet’s Heart
A very happy turtle has won the internet’s heart. I’ve seen dogs react like this but never a turtle.
Have you ever seen a happy turtle? I really don’t think I have up until now. Usually, they appear stoic and unbothered. However, this happy turtle is very different. He looks psyched when his owner shows up and you can actually see his excitement! It’s adorable and if you never thought about owning a pet turtle before you definitely will now!
Video Of Happy Turtle Goes Viral Online
There’s nothing like coming home after a long day of work and then you see how excited and happy your dog is to see you. It can change your mood around instantly. However, dogs aren’t the only pet who are capable of doing this. No, I’m not talking about cats. I’m talking about a very happy turtle!
It’s a very short video but it’s long enough for you to see how happy this turtle is. You’ve probably seen a similar expression on your dog’s face, but a happy turtle is something I had never even thought about before! It turns out, turtles have good eyesight and can recognize faces and are even known to form bonds with people! I had absolutely no idea. Check out the viral video shared by @wildliferescuers on Instagram here.
Sorry, it won’t embed so you have to click this link, but how awesome is that? He legit looks happy! It almost looks fake, I didn’t think it was real at first. I’ve never seen a turtle make that face in my life! He’s adorable! I want a happy turtle as a pet now. Of course, this would only make it a real bummer if you get a pet turtle and he’s never this excited to see you. That would be a let down for sure.
The video is captioned, “Turtles, like many animals, can form bonds with their caregivers over time. Although they are often seen as solitary creatures, turtles can recognize their caretakers by sight, sound, and even smell. This recognition can lead to behaviors like swimming excitedly towards them or eagerly waiting for food. Fun fact: turtles have a keen sense of hearing, even though they don’t have visible ears! They can pick up on low-frequencey sounds, which helps them recognize familiar voices,” per @wildliferescuers.
Do you want a pet turtle now? I know I definitely would love to come home to see a happy turtle waiting for me.
