Suspect Caught After Sending Cops A New And Improved Mugshot To Use
A suspect has been caught after sending cops a new and improved mugshot to use. Now, let’s call that the Mugshot Of The Day!
There are many ways you could get caught after committing a crime. There might be video footage at the scene, someone might rat you out, DNA might be left behind, or you might do something to get yourself apprehended. Well, it sounds like that’s what happened to this guy who reportedly was finally caught after sending law enforcement a new and improved mugshot to use! You don’t get to choose your mugshot and if you don’t like the one that was taken then that’s on you! You shouldn’t do anything to try to change that around and it might only lead to more trouble.
Was A Suspect Caught After Sending Cops A New And Improved Mugshot To Use?
According to Daily Star, 43-year-old George Whittaker was wanted for breaching his license having been jailed for stealing roughly $3 million worth of Viking treasure. Police issued a Facebook appeal in an attempt to find him and he responded that they should have used a better picture of him because he was hungover at the time. Yeah, you don’t want to that especially if you’re a wanted man who’s at large!
It sounds like he was on a 3 day bender at the time of the photo being taken and he wanted a better representation of himself out there. You can’t blame him! So, he sent them a better looking photo of himself that they should use instead. In this picture, he’s showing off his tattoos and wearing sunglasses and has a beard while wearing a white shirt. Gwent Police said in a statement to Daily Star, “We’re appealing for information to locate George Whittaker, 43, — also known as George Powell–who has breached his license conditions.” Whittaker was using the Facebook name George Dennis Blackbeard when he said he didn’t want the photo being used because he was hungover, per Daily Star.
Daily Star reports that Whittaker was convicted at Worcester Crown Court of theft, conspiracy to conceal criminal property and conspiracy to convert criminal property. However, he doesn’t seem to agree with the charges not the sentencing. Daily Star reports he says, “I was convicted in 2019 for finding treasure in a field that I had permission to be on. Assumptions found me guilty and I received six and half years in jail.” He went on to vent more about how unfair the charges against him are and how unfair he’s being treated.
