Ghost Hope to Release a New Album in 2021, But Only If Touring is Back
Ghost hopes to have a new album out in 2021, but that’s contingent on a few things– such as touring.
Frontman Tobias Forge tells Sweden Rock Magazine that he’s in the process of writing the upcoming record. If all goes well, he’ll record it in January 2021.
“The plan now is for me to be here [in the studio] writing for another two months until Christmas,” Forge told the magazine (this English translation was given to Blabbermouth by Sweden Rock Magazine).
Forge added, “The idea is for the album to be recorded in January. The actual recording will last around six weeks and then there’s two to three weeks of mixing and mastering. So sometime in March the record should be finished, but it won’t be released until after the summer.”
Continuing on with the timeline, Forge said, “As it looks now, knock on wood, we will then go on tour. We won’t release an album until we know that we are actually going on tour. The album release will coincide with the start of a tour.”
Ghost’s most recent studio set is 2018’s Prequelle.
