With Valentines Day coming up, I thought I’d post some “Love” songs guaranteed to help you out in the love department. Now, since we’re a rock station and I’m a true rocker, these aren’t some cheesy pop songs filled with autotune and computer music. These are rock songs that stand the test of time throughout the decades. Yes, some may be a little heavy, but it’s my list so I make the rules. LOL

The songs span the seventies through right now. Let’s face it, many musicians got into this crazy business to get the girl, right? That being said, there’s no lack of “love” songs to choose from. These kind of songs are as old as time itself. When I was a kid we made “mix tapes” full of these kinds of songs. We’d tape them and then give them to some girl we wanted to date. Yes, that was back in the stone-ages.

Things are much different nowadays, I know. But the sentiment is still the same. Music does a lot for people. Whether it puts them in a better mood, takes them back to a place and time in their past, or fills them with love. Sappy, right? But it’s all true. Personally, I’m not huge into Valentines Day, nor am I into that stupid Sweetest Day nonsense. I do like a good rock song, so here’s the list of rockin’ love songs.

Alright, enough yapping, here’s some classic love songs for you. You can’t go wrong if you drop the needle on any of these…..ok, maybe you can, just don’t blame me.

  • This Love - Pantera

Classic Pantera! Love this song! It was on this tour that I was lucky enough to meet the Cowboys from Hell for the first time.

  • Love In An Elevator - Aerosmith

This video is one I’ll never forget. Classic Aerosmith from the “Pump” era. A great time in their career.

  • Love Is On The Way - Saigon Kick

I played this one on the radio a lot of times in the early 90s. These guys were suppose to tour again in 2024, but as of this writing, they’ve put it on the shelf.

  • Love Song - Tesla

Great band, great song. The guys from Sacramento always had a knack of crafting great songs with by using acoustic guitars and electric ones.

  • Love Gun - KISS

One of the few KISS songs with sexual innuendo. (LOL) Ok, maybe there were a few more. Yeah, I could probably post many more from KISS for this topic.

  • It's Love - Kings X

What a band! Maybe the most underrated in rock history. Plus, one of those bands that has all its original members.

  • L.O.V.E. Machine - W.A.S.P.

I LOVE this song! Great band! I saw Blackie and the guys at Harpos a couple years ago. Awesome show!

  • Love Bites (So Do I) - Halestorm

Ok, Halestorm starts the Love Bites section. LZZY is so talented. I had forgotten how good she was until I saw her last year. She rocks!

  • Love Bites - Judas Priest

The Metal God at his finest! Classic Priest is hard to top for me. Just a great era/song from them. Someone also suggested “Turbo Lover” from the Priest. Another great song.

  • Love Bites - Def Leppard

This wraps up this portion of the show. Yeah, I guess there are some Love Bites songs.

  • River Of Love - Lynch Mob

Off of one of my favorite albums of the 90s. Great song/album! I was lucky enough to find a vinyl copy and get George Lynch to sign it.

  • So This Is love - Van Halen

The funky side of VH. Awesome song! Again, this era from the band was so good.

  • Love Hate Love - Alice In Chains

    Just a masterpiece from A.I.C.

  • Use To Love Her - Guns N' Roses

A song about a dog? Ok!

  • How Did You Love - Shinedown

A solid song from the SD boys. Singer Brent Smith is such a thoughtful song writer.

  • Still Loving You - Scorpions

I love how this builds and builds. Excellent song. Oh, from another band that is yet to be inducted, or even nominated for, the Rock Hall. Joke!

  • Let Me Put My Love Into You - AC/DC

One of my favorite AC/DC songs. Nothing says love quite like this classics .LOL

  • I don't believe In Love - Queensryche

Great song off an awesome album! Operation Mindcrime is so good! This is just one song of that killer record.

  • Blackout In The Red Room - LOVE/Hate ( Ilove this song)

Killer band, killer song! This is one of those albums I have to get on vinyl. Just a great, raw record from the early 90s.

  • Lick My Love Pump (unfinished) Spinal Tap

The greatest love song of them all, from the greatest rock band in history! I love Spinal Tap. I hear they’re going to start filming a second movie this year. I don’t know if it can top the first one.
