Can you imagine showing up and your Airbnb and realizing that your bed is actually fake? Well, it seems like that happened to these 3 women in Nebraska!

What looked like a bed turned out to just be 2 folding tables under some blankets! There was no mattress! That is not going to lead to a great night of sleep–or several because you’re on vacation. Now, their video of their Airbnb with a fake bed is going viral online. This would be a terrible discovery.

Did This Airbnb Have A Fake Bed?

A lot can go wrong when you decide to stay at an Airbnb and it comes with a lot of risks. You could run into bed bugs, a dirty home, no Wi-Fi, possible hidden cameras, and now you might also realize you have a fake bed. That would be horrible! The video now has more than 8.7 million views after only one day online! Commenters can’t believe what they’re seeing and some are even sharing their own Airbnb horror stories, but this one might be hard to match. One comment even says, “That money would have to be back in my account the second I unveiled that blanket.” I think a lot of people agree. Another commenter joked about not only having to check for bed bugs moving forward but for an actual bed!

It’s one thing to have it like that in a staging or something, but when people are actually coming and paying to stay there I think there’s a reasonable expectation that they’re going to have a bed. You can see the viral video for yourself below. How would you have reacted if you found this? I don’t think I’d be willing to stay. I’d feel duped.

It seems like the original TikTok video and its follow-up might have been deleted from the social media site. Thankfully, you can still see the video in the YouTube video above. Thankfully, there ended up being enough beds for all to stay in a real one and nobody had to stay on the fake bed, per Daily Mail. That would have been an absolute nightmare. It sounds like it would have been a really cool house outside of the fake bed (note some sarcasm). It sounds like there was a movie room with 2 cameras on tripods, so you can make home movies! Others were concerned about how dirty it was and needs a cleaning.

According to Daily Mail, the group did not file a formal complaint but Airbnb did reach out after the 2 videos went viral on TikTok. Erica, one of the girls on the trip, says that the company gave them a full refund. That’s good! I guess that’s what you get for vacationing in Nebraska?
