Ever wonder what happens at your job after you die? Well, it’s probably not the answer you want to hear.
An Australian influencer recently broke down what would happen at your job if you died. Basically, your company doesn’t care about you and you’re just a number and a body in a chair to them. Here’s more on the story below.
Here’s What Happens At Your Job After You Die
Unfortunately, you’ll never be able to attend your own funeral. You may have seen it in movies or TV shows, but chances are it’s not going to happen to you. Sure, you could plan an elaborate scheme and fake your own death. However, who are we kidding? You’re not going to do that and neither am I. So, we will never know what happens at our funeral or who shows up (and who doesn’t).
The same thing goes with what happens at work after we die. We’d love to believe everything comes to a screeching stop. However, that’s not likely the case. In our heads, we might picture work not being able to function without us. It could be for morale or because we’re so good at our roles that we cannot possibly be replaced. Well, that’s not the case. As it turns out, we are all very replaceable and if we die the workplace might miss us for a while before we’re ultimately forgotten and replaced.
Basically, if you hate your job and you’re not happy–leave. Don’t hang around because of some feeling of loyalty. Chances are your employer and workplace wouldn’t return that same loyalty if given a chance.
An Australian influencer, @_heytherehannah, broke down what would happen at work if you died, and it’s dark. It’s not great, but serves as a good reminder that work is work–don’t confuse it for a second home. Check out what they had to say below.

Cort Freeman was born and raised in Metro Detroit. He was named Clarkston High School 2009 Class Clown 13 years after graduating. Totally normal thing to happen. That’s thanks to his time spent as an Intern at Comedy Central and Social Media Correspondent for The Colbert Report. Cort has done comedy across the country, both standing up and sitting down. When he’s not trying to make you laugh on-air and online, he’s probably at home enjoying his favorite shows like Seinfeld, South Park, and The Office. He’s also totally uncomfortable writing about himself in the third person. Cort enjoys writing about comedy, food, sports, and entertainment. So, basically anything and everything.
