There’s an old saying, “if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.” Sometimes, you have to remember the famous old saying. It might come in handy when you’re trying to lie. Like, you should know that the old $78 million check routine won’t get you a Porsche.
Even rich people don’t walk around with that kind of money on a check like that. You’ve got to think things through! Let’s meet the guy who was arrested trying to pull this off.
Warning: The ‘$78 Million Check’ Routine Won’t Get You A Porsche
A man in Indiana was arrested after allegedly trying to buy a Porsche from a dealership using a $78 million check and refusing to leave after he was rejected, according to WAVE 3.
Connor James Litka, 21, of Bloomington entered the St. Matthews Porsche Dealership with a $78 million check hoping to purchase a new Porsche with it. However, when the employees refused to sell him the car, he decided to walk around the dealership trying to look for car keys.
Clearly, he wasn’t going to leave until he got what he wanted. That’s when the dealership phoned the police where he now faces one count of criminal trespass and one count of disorderly conduct, per WAVE 3.
After investigating, WAVE 3 reports he had done something similar the day before at a Land Rover dealership, where he attempted the same thing only with a $12 million check. It doesn’t work that way, my guy.
Can you imagine if this actually worked? “Fellas, he’s got a big check over here! Sir, you are good to go, here are your keys!” Thankfully, it sounds like they immediately saw through his plan. Well, plans I suppose.
Check out the report on YouTube shared by WAVE 3. Pretty wild attempt here! Not the best choice. Then, keep scrolling to see his mugshot!

Cort Freeman was born and raised in Metro Detroit. He was named Clarkston High School 2009 Class Clown 13 years after graduating. Totally normal thing to happen. That’s thanks to his time spent as an Intern at Comedy Central and Social Media Correspondent for The Colbert Report. Cort has done comedy across the country, both standing up and sitting down. When he’s not trying to make you laugh on-air and online, he’s probably at home enjoying his favorite shows like Seinfeld, South Park, and The Office. He’s also totally uncomfortable writing about himself in the third person. Cort enjoys writing about comedy, food, sports, and entertainment. So, basically anything and everything.
