You never expect to be threatened with a knife by a person in a Mickey Mouse costume, but that’s what’s happening in Italy. Terrified tourists have been taking to social media to share what happened and to warm others about the person in a Mickey Mouse costume in Naples, Italy. Pictures have been shared on social media showing the character posing for pictures with people–even children–but it’s not as friendly as it may seem. Those unwilling to pay for photos have reported being threatened by the character with one person claiming he pulled a knife on them, per The Sun. You’d never expect that behavior from Mickey Mouse!
Why Is A Person In A Mickey Mouse Costume Threatening Tourists?
One person took to social media to share, “I was super excited and had my daughter take a picture with Mickey Mouse. Only now have I discovered that he goes around with a knife and take its (sic) out on anyone who doesn’t give him money. Thank god we escaped,” per The Sun. They weren’t the only who reported issues with the character online either it seems like. Others shared pictures with a similar story.
According to The Sun, local law enforcement now has “mouse traps” in place to catch the person in the Mickey Mouse costume and hopefully nobody else will be threatened. Feel like you should only approach someone dressed as Mickey Mouse while at Disney World or something. Otherwise you have no idea who’s inside that costume and what their motive is. You never know!
