Florida Man Steals Boots And Clings To Pylon In Water Trying To Avoid Arrest
A Florida man stole some boots and then had to cling to a pylon in the water to avoid being arrested. It didn’t end up working.
Sounds like he gave escaping his full-effort which you have to respect in a way. He traipsed through murky water, hid in mangroves, and clung on to a pylon in the Florida Keys. While he was able to evade law enforcement for a bit, they did eventually catch up to him but it also took a lot of effort. They first tried unsuccessfully by boat and foot and had to wait a bit but they ended up apprehending their suspect. According to FOX 13 News, it all started when 29-year-old Da’Veon Hassan Fleming of Tampa stole a pair of boots from a store in Islamorada. He took off and the chase was on.
Florida Man Steals Boots And Tries To Evade Law Enforcement
FOX 13 News reports that Fleming took off and was spotted crawling through murky water near Snake Creek. They were unable to capture him at that time. Later that day, he was spotted again and this time ran into the mangroves and swam to a pylon and held onto it, per FOX 13 News. This time, he was taken into custody by a civilian boater.
He has since been charged with larceny and resisting arrest. The Florida Highway Patrol assisted in the incident. I’d be scared going into those waters and hiding there. You never know what might be lurking! I’d rather get arrested than attacked by an alligator or something. You can see a photo of him clinging to the pylon provided by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office below.
