Sam’s Club Is Testing a Holiday Hot Dog Monstrosity . . . That Combines Thanksgiving and Christmas
Mark You Calendars To Get Yourself a “Holidog” at Sam’s Club
Dave loves a club. Yesterday we were talking about club sandwiches, but in this case I’m referring to the big-box store grocery chain clubs. Your Costco’s and Sam’s Club. So, it’s no surprise he’s up to date on all special things being released by the “clubs”. In select cities, you’ll be able to try one of Sam’s Club’s new “Holidogs”.
According to The Takeout, “Sam’s Club is releasing its “Holidog” at hot dog carts in select cities nationwide. The Takeout also reports, “Curious eaters can line up for a Holidog, which will be offered in three flavors: Holiday Mashup, Frankly Both, and Season’s Meatings. The first stop is New York City on December 5, 2024. Next, the Holidog will head to Nashville on December 9, 2024, and finally, Dallas on December 12, 2024.
So, what’s in a “Holidog”? It doesn’t sound great! The Holiday Mashup is a hot dog topped with Christmas cookies and mashed potatoes. The Frankly Both is a hot dog topped with pumpkin pie and candy canes. The Season’s Meatings is a hot dog topped with turkey and prime rib roast. It definitely gives you a combination flavor profile of Thanksgiving and the Holidays. But are they any good?
Do people really want to eat mashed potatoes and Christmas cookies on their hot dogs? Or a hot dog with pumpkin pie and candy canes? Seems outrageous. That might be exactly what Sam’s Club is going for here.
Check out pictures of the “Holidogs” on Sam’s Clubs website. And, if you live in one of the select cities and try it, please let us know how they are! I can’t almost guarantee with 100% certainty that no one on this show is going to give them a try.
If you don’t live in one of the select cities, you can tag Sam’s Club on social media and they might be able to get you a personal taste test!
