The World’s Most Expensive Cranberry Sauce Costs $195 Per Dollop
Do You Want To Try The World’s Most Expensive Cranberry Sauce?
Restaurants and businesses really seem to love making the world’s most expensive food items. We’ve talked about milkshakes and cheeseburgers, steak and lobster, and now a restaurant is capitalizing on Thanksgiving. A NYC steakhouse has the world’s most expensive cranberry sauce, costing $195 per dollop.
According to NYPost, Old Homestead Steakhouse in Manhattan is serving up the world’s most expensive cranberry sauce. A dollop costs $195! NYPost reports, “Every year we try to do something different, a little more extravagant,” the razzle dazzle-giving restaurateur told The Post. “The palates of the American people are changing. There is a large percentage of people now that like to go extraordinaire, and we try to provide that.””
Of course, it’s topped with gold. All of these “most expensive” food items are topped with gold or gold flakes. That’s what makes it so expensive. But, we haven’t been able to figure out what the obsession is with these items. Obviously, it’s for people who don’t see money as issue, or it’s for influencers who just want to be able to share content of them eating the fancy food.
Thanksgiving has so many delicious items. Maybe this restaurant is trying to make cranberry sauce the star of the show. At least in my house, cranberry sauce is outshined by the turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, and stuffing. So, you give the cranberry sauce a little bit of flair, and maybe it was get itself some shine.
Do you have any interest in trying something like this? We don’t have the desire to try the “most expensive” anything when it comes to food. We always think that it can never actually taste as good as it’s worth. And if it’s mediocre and just covered with gold flakes, then we’ll pass.
