Dave & Chuck Lawsuit?
360-Pound Library Worker Files $4.6 Million Lawsuit
We are no stranger to lawsuit stories on this show. They happen all the time and sometimes make our news reports. However, we didn’t expect to hear about a library being sued. And the amount of money someone is asking from the library is shocking, as well. How’s $4.6 million sound?
According to NYPost, “A 6-foot-2, 360-pound New York Public Library employee claims he’s been “traumatized” by being forced to work at a desk that is too small — and wants $4.6 million to make up for it.” The NYPost reports, “The case is “without merit,” a spokesperson for the New York Public Library said, adding, “We take employee accommodations and concerns with utmost seriousness, and are dedicated to treating our staff across the Library with fairness and respect.””
First, we can’t believe the man is asking for that much money. Not only does it seem like a ridiculous amount of money, but he’s asking the library for it. How much money can the library actually have to pay out. Second, it has us thinking that maybe this guy is onto something because our legs feel pretty cramped in the studio from time to time.
Chuck and Andy both impersonate this large man being squished into his desk. Screaming and writhing in pain from being pressed into a tiny desk. Chuck even says that Dave probably experiences some of this because of how tall he is. Dave confirms Chuck’s thoughts, and even says his knee pain was caused by the way he sits at work.
So, we understand being crammed into a tight spot, but we aren’t so sure $4.6 million is a fair ask. Who knows, maybe the guy will get it. But, like most lawsuits, you aim high and hope for a lower settlement. We’ll leave it up the professionals and maybe this guy will come away with 4.6!
