Woman Tricked By Phone Scammer on Facetime
So many phone scams to deal with these days. Almost every other call you receive could be a phone scammer. The bank is a very common institution these scammers use in order to trick people into sending them money. A woman in Ohio fell victim for a money scam, and more.
According to reports from Cleveland19.com, a woman in Mayfield Heights, Ohio was tricked by scammers to not only withdraw money from her bank account but also strip down on camera through Facetime.
It started as your typical scam. A fake customer service representative for the bank called the unnamed woman saying she needed to transfer money from to a debit card to cover a fraudulent charge on her account. A charge of $6,000 according to reports from Cleveland19.com.
Once the transaction was completed, things took a more sinister turn. We haven’t heard of these scam many times but, the “customer service rep” called her through Facetime after she completed the transfer of funds. And, they told her she needed to have a full body scan in order to verify her identity. Cleveland19.com reports that she then stripped down and turned in circles and it wasn’t until she heard the phone scammer laughing that she realized something was wrong. Unfortunately, it was too late. She was not only scammed out of her $6,000, but now the scammers had seen her fully nude and most likely, it was recorded.
