What Did A Burger King Burglar Leave Behind At The Scene?
The incident happened in Englewood, Florida. According to NBC 2, Vladimir Belyshev Jr. has been identified after police received a call from a group of people who saw someone breaking into their car and noticed the back window was smashed out. The suspect was spotted inside the car and took off on foot. However, NBC 2 reports Belyshev left behind an “e-bike with a silver cup attached containing an alcoholic beverage and ice, along with a backpack full of clothes, an energy drink, Bud Light, and a fresh Burger King order containing three double-bacon cheeseburgers and a chicken sandwich.”
NBC 2 reports that detectives were able to determine that Vladimir stopped his e-bike at the Dearborn Corner Market where he purchased two Bud Light cans and another beverage. When he entered the store, he was seen with a silver cup that matched the one found on the e-bike at the crime scene. Interestingly, the Burger King was unable to confirm any record of the order that had been left behind.
Going by all the stuff that he left behind, I imagine it was pretty easy for law enforcement to identify him as the suspect of these crimes. It couldn’t have been hard for them to tie it all together. NBC 2 confirms that Belyshev gave a full confession to that crime and 2 additional crimes, as well. He must have opened up like a book once he was apprehended.
What Was The Burger King Burglar Charged With?
Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office Sheriff Bill Prummell gave a punny quote to NBC 2 saying, “While some may not find this to be a ‘Whopper’ of a case, I can assure you that those who had their belongings taken and their windows smashed certainly do. The commercial might say ‘Have it your way,’ but in Charlotte County, you can only have it if you have earned it. Now this ‘Big King’ is residing in a new castle…my Charlotte County Jail.”
NBC 2 reports Belyshev has been charged with burglary of unoccupied conveyance (felony) x2; criminal mischief with more than $1,000 damage (felony) x2; criminal mischief between $200-$1,000 (misdemeanor); LARC petit theft, second-degree (misdemeanor) x2; grand theft of a firearm (felony); and violation of probation.
