Guinness rocks. That’s not just an expression–Guinness truly rocks. A band turned a Guinness barcode into a sick riff!
On TikTok, there’s a popular hashtag “Will It Riff” (#WillItRiff) that’s been taking off lately. For this trend, musicians translate the numbers on barcodes into guitar tabs. If you’re looking for a rocking barcode, look no further than a pint of the black.
Band Turns Guinness Barcode Into Sick Riff
Going through videos of the Will It Riff trend, not all of them work. Surprisingly, a lot of them do end up sounding kind of cool. However, none are better than this Guinness barcode. It could be the tabs of an actual song. Thankfully, now it is. At least on TikTok.
I find it fitting that Guinness is the beer that rocks hard. There’s something about that beer that feels punk and grunge. Now, that’s being backed up with undisputable facts. I don’t think you’d find this kind of riff with a can of Coors Light. Nope, it has to be Guinness.
Check out the awesome song shared by @smalltowntitans on TikTok below! Then keep scrolling for more examples of Will It Riff!
You can try this trend with anything with a barcode! Give it a shot. However, you should be warned that it won’t always sound as cool as the example above. That’s not to say it won’t end up being great, though! You never know until you try.
Here’s another fun example that was made out of a barcode of Heinz Ketchup. See the trending video below shared by the same band. Also, notice the way he pronounces ketchup. What kind of accent is that? Have I been saying it wrong this whole time? It’s all I can think about now. Please, don’t let that distract you like it did me.

Peep Show: The Best Of Chuck The Freak
Cort Freeman was born and raised in Metro Detroit. He was named Clarkston High School 2009 Class Clown 13 years after graduating. Totally normal thing to happen. That’s thanks to his time spent as an Intern at Comedy Central and Social Media Correspondent for The Colbert Report. Cort has done comedy across the country, both standing up and sitting down. When he’s not trying to make you laugh on-air and online, he’s probably at home enjoying his favorite shows like Seinfeld, South Park, and The Office. He’s also totally uncomfortable writing about himself in the third person. Cort enjoys writing about comedy, food, sports, and entertainment. So, basically anything and everything.
