Midnight Metal

Lars Ulrich is either brave, insane or both, because he admitted he reads comment sections related to Metallica.

Ulrich shared this revelation in a new interview with Metal Hammer. The drummer said when Metallica dropped “Lux Æterna,” their lead single from their upcoming album 72 Seasons, he wanted to see what fans thought of the track.

Ulrich admits he has to prepare himself before reading the comments so he doesn’t take some remarks too personally. However, he adds, ” … I’d like to challenge anybody in a band to say they don’t look at comments.”

Ulrich notes, “I mean, I’m not sitting up until four o’clock in the morning scrolling through every one. But when you haven’t put any music out in five or six years and you dump something like ‘Lux Æterna’ on an unsuspecting world, you’re going to want to see what the feedback is.”

72 Seasons comes out on April 14. It’s available for pre-save here, while physical copies are available for pre-order at Metallica.com.
