A guy in Missouri that allegedly livestreamed threats to bomb and kill people while he was in character as the DC villain known as The Joker claims it was just a joke.
This incident went down back in March of 2020 but has finally been updated. The man behind The Joker stunt is Jeremy Garnier, he claims that he was in character and that everybody knew that it was a joke. He says that he was acting and talking like The Joker but that he had no intentions of following through with any of the threats.
After prosecutors reduced the charge from a felony, Garnier was sentenced to 60 days in jail plus credit for time served after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor charge of making a terrorist threat. This should go with out saying, but if you don’t want to go jail, maybe role play as a character that ISN’T known for killing incident people and terrorism in comic books and movies.
