Wolfgang Van Halen has been praised heavily on social media for which serves as a tribute to his late father, Eddie Van Halen. However, the hefty praise is something new for him.

Wolfgang detailed on Talkin’ Rock with Meltdown, “It’s a first for me to have to deal with an overwhelming amount of positivity on social media. It’s new. It’s exciting…It’s a necessary evil. These days, it’s definitely important to take some sanity breaks, but I think I’ve hit my stride and how I deal with the insanity of it.”

He added, “I just like to clear up misconceptions when people twist my words. I’m very clear. I really think before I speak. So, when someone takes my words and used them in different ways to spur clicks or whatever, it’s very important for me to clear it up.”

He also takes the time to clear up any news pertaining to his parents, too. Last week, Wolfgang took to Twitter to react to a recent auction of Eddie Van Halen guitars. Wolfgang said of the guitars, “They weren’t stage guitars. I had nothing to do with this. I don’t EVER plan on selling any of my father’s iconic guitars. The only place they’d possibly belong in is a museum.” He added in subsequent tweets, “Also one was a gift. I don’t know who’d want to give that away. Timing is a little fishy to me” and, “Oh wait, scratch that. It WASN’T for charity. They’re just taking advantage of my father’s passing. What a surprise. F— ‘em.”

Last month, Wolfgang also took Us Weekly to task for featuring his mother, Valerie Bertinelli, on their cover with a caption that read, “Valerie Bertinelli’s Untold Story: Love, Loss & Staying Strong.” Wolfgang shared a photo of the Us Weekly cover and tweeted, “F— this, and f— you, @usweekly. The only thing printed in this piece of toilet paper that’s true is that we all loved my father. This is not a new interview. My mother did not speak to them for this. That is all.”
