Recently, I posted the question on Facebook and X: What’s the next concert on your schedule? You guys gave me all sorts of great answers, and ideas for some shows I should go see.
This is always a weird time for shows in a city like Detroit. It seems like more shows come through town in the summer, and that’s okay with me. That being said, you can’t stay cooped up all winter, so getting out to some of these shows is somewhat therapeutic. We have some great indoor venues like the new District 142 in Wyandotte, Saint Andrews Hall, The Machine Shop, The Token Lounge, Motor City Casino Soundboard, Little Caesars Arena, and many more. Get out to a show and check out some of these local places.
Last year was a banner year for me as far as concerts go. The two Metallica shows at Ford Field are going to be hard, if not impossible to top. They are the kings of it all and do it right! Avenged Sevenfold, Ghost, and Shinedown are a few that stick out right away from the shows I saw at Pine Knob along with Riff Fest. Those shows rocked!
Here we go. Keep in mind, that these are only shows at the beginning of the year. Some are here, some are a road trip away. During the summer, I’m looking forward to the Creed-3 Doors Down tour, along with that Limp Bizkit show. It’s been forever since I’ve seen the Bizkit in concert. Oh, and I would include the Pantera show in Grand Rapids on February 20th, but it’s a weekday and I have to work. Tough to make the road trek to Grand Rapids after my show ends at 7 pm.
I hope I see you guys at some of these concerts. And now, on with the show!
