These are some of Hollywood's best castings! (Photo by Kevin Winter/Getty Images)

People know that some movies are horrible. Some are mediocre. Then some movies are perfect. One of the best things a good movie does is cast the perfect character. Someone who was born to play the role. Over the years there have been several legendary movies and characters that have graced the big screen. Scarface features “Al Pacino” as Tony Montana. Many would argue that this was one of the best castings for a movie in Hollywood.

Another one that could be argued is Sylvester Stallone as Rocky. Not because Sylvester Stallone is the most talented actor or anything, but I don’t see a world where anyone else fit the role of Rocky as good as Stallone did. It’s just a performance that cannot be easily matched but any other macho tough guy. Stallone showcases the down to earth grittiness of a rags to riches story amazingly well. If I was making a list of 15 perfect character castings, Stallone would make the list.

Notable Perfect Character Castings

Another couple of characters that are seemingly perfect castings are Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker and Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia. Even Harrison Ford as Han Solo would also count from the Star Wars Franchise! The only problem I would point out with these 3 actors, is that they had the misfortune of being defined by their roles for the most part.

While Mark Hamill has made a name for himself in the voice acting field. Hamill has become one of the most talented and sought after voice talents for animated series’s and video games. Of course, Harrison Ford always had Indiana Jones as well. However, Hamill, Fisher, and Ford all were most well-known from Star Wars.

So much so that after the films, they were not a major part of many other huge projects. While they may have all been huge actors, I have to exclude characters like this from the top 7 characters with perfect castings. If they don’t appear on the list though, who does? Find out which 7 Characters were perfectly casted below.

  • Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow

Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow has to be on my list for the most perfectly casted roles ever. Yes, Depp has been in several iconic roles prior to Pirates of the Caribbean. But in Pirates, Depp is unbelievable. His mannerisms are hilariously unique, the way he talks seemingly in always a whimsical and yet devious way. His casting in these films is as good as it gets.

  • Heath Ledger as The Joker

Jack Nicholson put on one hell of a show as the Joker in 1989’s “Batman”. Nicholson puts on an iconic performance and captures all the glamour of the comic book character. But Heath Ledger did something that nobody else had done in the Batman universe. Ledger became the Joker. Through an intense personal process of “method acting” Ledger was able to become the role so to speak and deliver one of the best performances ever on the big screen.

  • Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man

Robert Downey Jr. as Iron man is by far one the most perfectly casted characters ever. I could be wrong, but on some levels I think the character works so well because Robert Downey Jr. partially embodies some aspects of the character. He may be kind of cocky and is certainly wealthy. It seems that he has genuine fun being the character and it truly shows. Looking back, I can’t think of another actor who could have pulled off Iron Man the same way that Downey Jr did.

  • Sam Worthington As Jake Sully in Avatar

While Sam Worthington is by no means the greatest actor of all time or anything, he absolutely kills it in Avatar. He gives an amazing performance in these movies that few could have pulled off. The character is a bit of an ass yet is a gritty, tough nosed military grunt. Sam Worthington was the perfect fit for the role.

  • Tom Hanks as Forest Gump

Tom Hanks was the absolute perfect casting for the role of Forest Gump. He captures all of the weird mannersims, quirks and everything about the character exceptionally well. Yet another role that I don’t think anyone else could have pulled off. With all the scenes he is so heavily involved in, Hanks was the perfect choice as Forest Gump.

  • Denzel Washington as Coach Boone in Remember the Titans

Denzel Washington plays the best version of Coach Boone possible. In a movie that has a lot of intense racially motivated scenes, he brings the passion and tranquility that was unfairly required of African Americans looking to make it in America at the time.

Coach Boone was tasked with uniting a school’s football team through many obstacles after their Hall of Fame Coach steps down and retires. This is a movie where there could have been a couple other actors who may have done a great job, but I truly believe Denzel did the best possible job. This is why he is the perfect casting for Remember the Titans.

  • Hugh Laurie in House as Dr. Gregory House

Hugh Laurie puts on an acting spectacle in this 8-season series. The character is rather unique and sort of difficult to pull off. Dr. House is a brilliant Doctor of Diagnostic medicine, whose job is to diagnose the ailments that other doctors missed. His character is an incredible ass to those around him. While brilliant, he does lack the ability or at least the desire to form several close relationships. He constantly struggles with drug addiction and is in tremendous physical and mental pain throughout much of the show.

Hugh Laurie plays this role beautifully. To the point where you would almost believe that he experienced all of these things himself. Nobody else could have pulled off this character like Laurie did. It’s a treasure to watch House because of the excellency and perfect casting of Hugh Laurie as Dr. Gregory House.
