There are few things in life I enjoy more than a good cover song. It’s always unexpected and cool to hear a new twist on a classic song. I found 5 really catchy reggae covers of popular rock hits.

Cover songs are even better when they cross genres. It’s always cool to see a heavy metal band cover a pop song or a country artist cover a hip-hop song.

Catchy Reggae Covers Of Popular Rock Hits

Personally, I am a huge fan of reggae music. Right now, my favorite bands include Iration, Rebelution, and The Elovaters. Going through a phase where all I’m listening to is reggae.

During my deep dive into reggae, I’ve found some awesome reggae covers of popular rock hits. It’s awesome to see the different approach to these songs. You wouldn’t expect a reggae band to be able to pull off some of these covers, but somehow they nail it.

As I mentioned earlier, I love seeing bands cover songs that aren’t in their wheelhouse. Songs that aren’t even a part of the genre of music they are masters at. Seeing Pantera cover a Metallica song wouldn’t have the same impact as seeing I Prevail cover Taylor Swift. You wouldn’t expect it to be great, but it ends up being insanely catchy.

Some of my favorite songs are actually covers. I’m a big fan of “Last Kiss” by Pearl Jam. Turns out, that’s a cover. Many songs are covers of older songs that we’ve never even heard of.

Let’s get to the list! Here are 5 really catchy reggae covers of popular rock hits. You should be familiar with all of these songs. Now, you get to hear these popular singles as reggae covers. Hopefully, you’ll end up loving these as much as I have. It was tough narrowing it down to just five. Here’s what I found!

  • Ballyhoo! - "Dammit" (Blink-182)

Ballyhoo! has a great cover of Blink-182’s popular hit “Dammit.” The reggae beat makes it even more catchy. It’s one of my favorite Blink songs, but I might prefer this version!

  • Simplified - "Low" (Cracker)

Many bands have covered “Low” over the years, but Simplified’s version is my favorite. It sounds like a totally different song. I dig the vibe.

  • The Step Beats - "Drive" (Incubus)

I love Incubus. Now, I also love The Step Beats. I wrote more about them and their amazing reggae covers here. This is an outstanding cover.

  • Iration - "Mary Jane's Last Dance" (Tom Petty)

Iration is one of my favorite bands. I love all their originals the most, but have to show love to their amazing cover of “Mary Jane’s Last Dance.” It’s a rare treat to see them play the song.

  • The Step Beats - "Creep" (Radiohead)

Another song by The Step Beats? Am I allowed to do that? Of course! These covers are that good and they really exemplify what I mean when I talk about approaching a song from a new perspective. Love how “Creep” sounds with a reggae vibe.
