“Terrifier 2” Stars Sarah Voigt and Casey Harnett Talk Blood, Guts, and Horror Fandom
By Meltdown
It’s not every day I trade guitars for guts, but this time, I did. Normally, I’m talking to rock stars, but today, I got to chat with two stars from Terrifier 2—Sarah Voigt and Casey Harnett. If you’ve seen Terrifier 2, you already know—this movie is a different breed of horror, unapologetically brutal, hilariously over-the-top, and filled with some of the most twisted on-screen moments ever. And now, these two are making their way to Michigan for a killer event at the historic Howell Theater on March 29.
Sarah Voigt: From “What Have I Gotten Myself Into?” to Horror Fandom
Sarah Voigt, who plays the ill-fated mom in Terrifier 2, admitted that before she took the role, she wasn’t exactly a horror buff. In fact, she hadn’t even seen the first Terrifier before she signed on. “I got cast, watched it, and I was like, ‘I don’t know if I want to do this,’” she laughed. “My husband looked at me like, ‘You’ve got to be kidding me.’”
But once she stepped into the Terrifier world, there was no turning back. The film blew up in ways she never expected, and now, she’s fully embracing the fandom. “I think that’s what people gravitated to—it’s campy, it’s fun, it’s ridiculous. And somehow, it just works,” she said.

One thing she didn’t expect? The mashed potatoes scene. “I had no idea that was coming,” she admitted. If you’ve seen the movie, you know exactly what I’m talking about. If you haven’t… well, just be prepared to never look at mashed potatoes the same way again.
Sarah also had some thoughts on Terrifier’s silent slasher, Art the Clown. “David (Howard Thornton) is so kind and funny, but once he’s in that costume, he doesn’t speak—ever. It’s creepy.”
Sarah’s heading to Howell for the event, and she’s stoked. “I haven’t done a screening in a year and a half, so I’m super excited to answer questions and see everybody.” And in classic Michigan fashion, I had to tell her—yeah, the Howell Theater might be haunted. “Really? I love that stuff!” she said. Perfect. Let’s hope Art the Clown isn’t lurking in the shadows.
Casey Harnett: Signing Salt Canisters and Becoming a Horror Icon
If you’ve seen Terrifier 2, you definitely remember Casey Harnett’s character. Her on-screen demise is one of the goriest, most talked-about horror deaths of all time. And yeah, that’s a weird thing to be known for. “When I got into acting, I thought I’d be doing dramas,” Casey told me. “Now I’m in one of the most brutal horror death scenes ever.”
Casey’s no stranger to horror, though. She loves psychological thrillers, the kind that mess with your head. But when it comes to Terrifier 2, the reaction from her friends and family was… mixed. “Not everyone could watch it,” she admitted. “A lot of them were just like, ‘When are you going to do a comedy?’”

But the horror fandom? They love her. And they bring her the weirdest stuff to sign. “Sarah’s had it easy,” Casey laughed. “I’ve signed salt canisters, bleach bottles, even someone’s arm—which they got tattooed.” Yep, someone out there has Casey’s signature permanently inked on them. That’s dedication.
Casey’s got some projects in the works—thrillers, dramas, and even some writing of her own. But right now, she’s just soaking in the Terrifier madness. “It’s crazy to be part of something with such a huge fandom,” she said. “It’s been wild.”

March 29 at the Howell Theater—Be There
Both Sarah and Casey are rolling into Howell for an epic night of Terrifier 2 madness—autographs, Q&As, and, of course, a screening of the movie. If you’re a horror fan, you don’t want to miss this. Just, uh, maybe don’t bring any mashed potatoes.
I’ll see you guys there!
