My favorite Con returns for the 8th time, but it’s moved from Livonia to Ypsilanti. George and the Twiztid guys have done it again and started announcing guests for the upcoming event. Billed as Metro Detroit’s #1 Pop Culture Convention, Astronomicon 8 will occur April 4th through the 6th at the Ann Arbor Marriott Ypsilanti at Eagle Crest, located at 1275 S Huron Street Ypsilanti, MI 48197.
It was a dream of the Twiztid guys to host a Con. Now it’s become a spring staple in metro Detroit.
The first guests have been announced and are starting with a bang!

Astronomicon 7 Had "Record-Breaking Attendance" In Livonia's Burton Manor
Astronomicon 7 is in the books and once again the Twiztid guys pulled off another great Comic- Con! I love these events because you get the chance to see and meet celebrities that you might never have had the chance to. Wrestlers from the past and present. Actors, movie stars, voice actors, and so on.
The Burton Manor in Livonia was ground zero for all things pop culture. Legends, WWE Hall Of Fame members. Mick Foley, Sargent Slaughter, Rob Van Damn, Matt Hardy and more. Stars of the screen, mostly in the horror genre, which I’m a big fan of. It was great to see Bill Moslely again. He’s been in Rob Zombie movies but is best known as “Chop Top” in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2. I was excited to see Amelie McLain, the Little Pale Girl in Terrifier 2. The next installment of that series comes out in October and I can’t wait.
After interviewing Spencer Charnas for the second time, I had the chance to meet him in person. You can listen to our interview here, where we talked about his band Ice Nine Kills opening for Metallica, horror movies, and lots more. His line for pictures and autographs was long all weekend.

More crazy characters at Astro over the weekend. This costume took some dedication.
Meltdown started on the mighty WRIF on the evening of Halloween, 1995. Technically, his first on-air shift was the morning of November 1st. Moving to the Motor City from Buffalo, N.Y., he has built a career and family. Over his almost three-decade stint at RIFF, he's had the privilege to work with some of the biggest personalities in Detroit radio history. He boasts of being just the second-afternoon drive jock in the station's illustrious 53-year history.
Along with his love for rock music and attending concerts, he's also an avid Harley-Davidson enthusiast and hockey player. He plays year-round and manages to squeeze in a few charity games throughout the year. Meltdown writes about the Detroit Red Wings, rock music, and Detroit concert venues.
