It could just be recency bias, but it has to be up there among the worst ever. I’m sorry, I hate to say it but it does. I’m not sure if her voice went out and she couldn’t find the note, or if it was part of an intentional sound meant to sound different and she just didn’t execute properly. Who knows? Check out the viral performance below, and then make sure to keep scrolling as we try to determine if it is, in fact, the worst ever.
While you can say with confidence that it’s one of the worst ever, there are still plenty of other nominees. On Dave & Chuck The Freak, we talked about Carl Lewis’ performance of the National Anthem. Honestly, I hadn’t seen it before! I had no idea. However, it might be worse than Ingrid’s. She can hold her head high compared to Carl.
Likewise, Roseanne had a brutal performance of the National Anthem. Was she singing poorly on purpose? It could have been a bit. I feel like it’s different with a comedian because they’re always trying to be funny. That’s always the goal. So, even though it was a terrible performance, I’ll write it off as comedy.
Recently, Fergie went viral for her performance of The Star Spangled Banner during the NBA All-Star Game. She tried to add a Jazz element to the National Anthem and it did not work. It’s hilarious watching the players try to hold back their laughter as they watch and listen to the unique performance.
