Daycare Workers In New Hampshire Facing Charges
According to Boston 25 News, the owner and three workers at a daycare in New Hampshire are facing charges after allegedly sprinkling the children’s food with melatonin without their parents’ permission. Sally Dreckmann, Traci Innie, Kaitlin Filardo, and Jessica Foster have all been charged with 10 counts of endangering the welfare of a child, per Manchester police.
Melatonin is a known sleep aid, so it looks like they were trying to put these kids to bed. Yeah, you can’t be doing that without the parents’ permission. Sprinkling it on the food? That’s so dark and twisted of these daycare workers in New Hampshire to do to kids! The four daycare workers in New Hampshire were arrested after an investigation that began in November of 2023.
Per Boston 25 News, Heather Hamel, a public information officer at the Manchester Police Department said, “Not having got permission from the parents, not knowing the medical history or the reaction that this child could have, having this in their system, it’s concerning, I mean it could be an allergic reaction, it could be much worse.” Right! You don’t know what might happen or if any of these kids may have a reaction to the melatonin.
Boston 25 News reports that the Boston Children’s Hospital says children under the age of 3 should never take melatonin. It can make them experience drowsiness, vomiting, and headaches.
