Yes! Another killer show is coming to Pine Knob this summer. Halestorm and Detroit's I Prevail played WRIF shows last summer and rocked it! Halestorm played Arts, Beats, and Eats in early September, with I Prevail playing RIFF Fest in late September. It was a monstrous show for the local boys, the biggest they'd headlined up to that point.

Both bands are excited to hit the tour trail together. According to the press release, "We're thrilled to join forces with Halestorm this summer," states I Prevail's Eric Vanlerberghe. "Touring with Halestorm is long overdue, as we admire their talent, energy, and dedication to rock music and are thrilled to see it happen finally. This will be one of the best summer tours we've ever done."

The press release continued, "Freaks, we are so proud to announce that we are joining forces with I Prevail," said Halestorm's Lzzy Hale. This isn't your typical summer tour. This is two worlds colliding under one haven for our collective armies. And bringing you a show unlike any we've done before! We have a lot of surprises in store, so get your tickets now for an experience none of us will forget!"

Halestorm and Collective Soul Rock Arts, Beats And Eats Saturday Night

I mean, to me, this is what it's all about - live concerts outside on a beautiful summer night. That's exactly what we had Saturday night in Royal Oak. Perfect weather and great bands!

Both bands killed it! Hit abound, between Halestorm and Collective Soul.

A couple things stood out to me. As far as Collective Soul is concerned, I just love the band. So many great songs. You might be surprised to hear, but my favorite CS song is "The World I Know". I also liked the mix of covers they tossd in.

As for Halestorm, the band sounded fantastic. Lzzy's voice is so powerful! She is the real deal for sure.

Check out some pictures from the show captured by WRIF photographer, Jason Anthony.

Meltdown started on the mighty WRIF on the evening of Halloween, 1995. Technically, his first on-air shift was the morning of November 1st. Moving to the Motor City from Buffalo, N.Y., he has built a career and family. Over his almost three-decade stint at RIFF, he's had the privilege to work with some of the biggest personalities in Detroit radio history. He boasts of being just the second-afternoon drive jock in the station's illustrious 53-year history. Along with his love for rock music and attending concerts, he's also an avid Harley-Davidson enthusiast and hockey player. He plays year-round and manages to squeeze in a few charity games throughout the year. Meltdown writes about the Detroit Red Wings, rock music, and Detroit concert venues.
