They say you can’t judge a book by its cover. So, does that mean you can’t judge a person by their name? Not! A daughter has gone viral for telling her mom she has an “old person name!”
Well, what we consider an “old person name” seems to be changing! Do you have an older adult’s name?
Daughter Goes Viral For Telling Mom She Has An “Old Person Name”
A mom went viral on TikTok after her daughter told her she had an “old person’s name.” What’s the mom’s name? It’s Amber! Amber! I’ve never heard that about Amber! When I was growing up, we considered the “old person name” to be something like Edith, Maude, or Rose. For men, you had stuff like Angus or Bartholomew that have gone out of style. However, Amber? I’ve never heard of that one being considered old! Thankfully, Dave & Chuck will forever sound young.
Well, maybe I’m just getting older. Perhaps I’ve been ignorant and haven’t noticed the times changing around me. Never in a million years would I consider Amber an old name. Well, other names that I don’t think are old are now being considered as such. Like, I went to school with these girls! These names are popular for women who are my age! I’m not old! We are not old!
Some other names that Amber says are now considered “old” include Erica and Amanda. What? No! We can’t start thinking these names to be older. Not yet! However, these names are now being compared to people my age and in my generation who are considered old, like Gail, Blanche, or Muriel. I’m sorry, but even after writing out those names, there’s no way you’re telling me they compare with Erica, Amanda, and Amber. Are these kids considered “old” to be 30? Ah, I hope not!

Chuck The Freak's List Of 8 Unlikely 80s Icons
The 80s were a time to remember. You had rock gods, Hollywood superstars, and mesmerizing athletes. Here is Chuck The Freak’s list of 8 unlikely 80s icons.
Not every 80s icon was one you’d expect. This group of people are the unsung heroes. Ones that the everyday Joe can relate to.
Chuck The Freak’s List Of 8 Unlikely 80s Icons
Chuck The Freak‘s list is different than most lists featuring 80s icons. Personally, I find it more relatable. There are tons of obvious heroes and icons of the 80s. However, the unlikely 80s icons don’t receive as much love. They deserve recognition.
In this list, we’ll introduce you, or probably re-introduce you, to some of the finest folks the 80s had to offer. You’ll likely remember some of these familiar characters. If not, we’re happy to introduce you to them for the first time!
Now, these individuals are all icons for their own unique reasons. Some, are relatable every day Joe’s who we can see ourselves in. Others, are pure testosterone driven Alpha Males. Then, you’ll find everywhere in between as well.
There are characters from classic movies and cult favorites. Even a couple of singers made the list. It’s funny, the 80s were a vastly different time. Some of the people on the list are still famous today, but they aren’t nearly the same type of person or level they were in the 80s.
The younger generation may see some of these names and be totally confused. “How was that guy an icon?” Well, times were different. Our superstars weren’t the same back then.
You ready to check out the list? Chuck The Freak provided the examples and quotes. Then, I filled in the rest with some commentary on his choices. Can you think of any unlikely 80s icons before we get to the list? Take a second. Think about it. Ready? Let’s get to the list!
Cort Freeman was born and raised in Metro Detroit. He was named Clarkston High School 2009 Class Clown 13 years after graduating. Totally normal thing to happen. That’s thanks to his time spent as an Intern at Comedy Central and Social Media Correspondent for The Colbert Report. Cort has done comedy across the country, both standing up and sitting down. When he’s not trying to make you laugh on-air and online, he’s probably at home enjoying his favorite shows like Seinfeld, South Park, and The Office. He’s also totally uncomfortable writing about himself in the third person. Cort enjoys writing about comedy, food, sports, and entertainment. So, basically anything and everything.
