This is something that could happen to Chuck during one of his metal detecting searches. A man got a shocking surprise when he tried to return a lost wedding ring he found.
A Maine man found out that sometimes what’s lost should stay that way. He didn’t expect this to happen.
Man Gets Shocking Surprise When He Tries To Return Lost Wedding Ring
Metal detectorist Scott Mannke believed he found something special. He dug up a tungsten ring, which at first didn’t strike him as important or noteworthy. It’s a common find in the hobby.
However, months later he decided he would clean it up in hopes of selling it. Why not? He told WAFF, “I’m like, ‘You know what? I’m gonna try to find the owner,’ so I dunked it in mineral oil, bought a magnifying glass. Well, I threw it on buy swap and trade sites, and I got a couple comments. Like one guys’s like, ‘That’s a generic ring. Why would anyone want that? you know. So, I had a few trolls at first, told them to mind their own business and then this lady actually messaged me, and she’s like, ‘Wait, I think that’s my ring.’ And I’m like, no way! There’s no way!”
She would go on to give him a better description of the ring, initials on it, and a date of the wedding in 2006 on it, and they matched!
He was thrilled by this! A metal detectorists’ dream to return a long lost coveted item! However, things didn’t go as he had hoped.
WAFF reports he said, “I go, ‘When do you wanna meet up? I’ll return it.’ and no response. I go, so I mean, ‘I’d like to return this.’ and no response. So, then she finally tells me she’s like, well, it’s my ex-husband’s and he tossed it in the river, apparently. So, she goes, ‘It’s nice to know he tossed it in the river.'”
She ended up telling Mannke that he can do with it what he pleases. He can sell it, keep it, whatever, as long as he didn’t return it. Ouch! Can you imagine finding out your ex did that? Even years after you’ve moved on that would definitely still sting.
Turns out, rings like this go missing all the time! Check out the report in Oregon where something similar happened, only with a different ending.
Chuck The Freak's List Of 8 Unlikely 80s Icons
The 80s were a time to remember. You had rock gods, Hollywood superstars, and mesmerizing athletes. Here is Chuck The Freak’s list of 8 unlikely 80s icons.
Not every 80s icon was one you’d expect. This group of people are the unsung heroes. Ones that the everyday Joe can relate to.
Chuck The Freak’s List Of 8 Unlikely 80s Icons
Chuck The Freak‘s list is different than most lists featuring 80s icons. Personally, I find it more relatable. There are tons of obvious heroes and icons of the 80s. However, the unlikely 80s icons don’t receive as much love. They deserve recognition.
In this list, we’ll introduce you, or probably re-introduce you, to some of the finest folks the 80s had to offer. You’ll likely remember some of these familiar characters. If not, we’re happy to introduce you to them for the first time!
Now, these individuals are all icons for their own unique reasons. Some, are relatable every day Joe’s who we can see ourselves in. Others, are pure testosterone driven Alpha Males. Then, you’ll find everywhere in between as well.
There are characters from classic movies and cult favorites. Even a couple of singers made the list. It’s funny, the 80s were a vastly different time. Some of the people on the list are still famous today, but they aren’t nearly the same type of person or level they were in the 80s.
The younger generation may see some of these names and be totally confused. “How was that guy an icon?” Well, times were different. Our superstars weren’t the same back then.
You ready to check out the list? Chuck The Freak provided the examples and quotes. Then, I filled in the rest with some commentary on his choices. Can you think of any unlikely 80s icons before we get to the list? Take a second. Think about it. Ready? Let’s get to the list!
Cort Freeman was born and raised in Metro Detroit. He was named Clarkston High School 2009 Class Clown 13 years after graduating. Totally normal thing to happen. That’s thanks to his time spent as an Intern at Comedy Central and Social Media Correspondent for The Colbert Report. Cort has done comedy across the country, both standing up and sitting down. When he’s not trying to make you laugh on-air and online, he’s probably at home enjoying his favorite shows like Seinfeld, South Park, and The Office. He’s also totally uncomfortable writing about himself in the third person. Cort enjoys writing about comedy, food, sports, and entertainment. So, basically anything and everything.
