Jason Sudeikis and Olivia Wilde Don’t Speak, But Want the Best for Their Kids
Jason Sudeikis and Olivia Wilde are putting their children first, despite their messy custody battle.
A source told People that Wilde, 38, “wants to focus on what’s best for the kids.” The couple shares daughter Daisy, 5, and son Otis, 8.
“She and Jason don’t speak to each other, so they have help communicating about the custody schedule,” the insider says. Though the House alum is “upset about the custody drama,” she still “wants the kids to see” Sudeikis, 46, “as much as possible,” adds the source.
One of the bigger troubles for the children is where they will be living, as both Sudeikis and Wilde have differing opinions on where the kids should live — between London, Los Angeles and New York City. “She hopes they can figure out the best living situation for everyone,” the insider says of Wilde.
As we previously reported, a judge ruled their kids’ home state is California and not New York, granting Wilde’s motion to dismiss a custody petition filed by Sudeikis in October 2021. In his petition, the Ted Lasso actor reportedly said he hoped for the duo to parent their kids from New York City, where the family previously lived and where Otis and Daisy were both born.
Sudeikis alleged that Wilde would allow him to spend time with their kids “on weekends and during vacation periods” if he didn’t live in LA full time. He said that this deprives “me of my right to parent the children during important periods of their lives.”
