Miguel Cabrera, aka “Miggy,” has just hit 500 home runs, making him the 28th player in history to join this elite list.
Cabrera hit the big 500 during the Detroit Tigers’ game against the Toronto Blue Jays at Rogers Centre today (Aug. 22).
The Tigers will also host “Miggy Celebration Day” on Sept. 24.
Cabrera is playing his 13th season with the Detroit Tigers and has achieved the Hank Arron Award (2012), American League Most Valuable Player (2012 and 2013), 11-time Silver Slugger, AL Triple Crown and a range of other honors.
