Jonel was a journalism major who went to Specs Howard School of Media Arts and has worked in radio since 1999. In 2016, he got the opportunity he’d hoped for his entire career. A spot at WRIF as part-time air talent and studio board operator for all of WRIF’s great jocks when they’re out broadcasting live all over Detroit. Personally, Jonel is Michigan through and through. Born in Detroit, he was raised in Sterling Heights, has lived in Shelby Township, New Baltimore and Farmington Hills, and now resides in Northville.  He has a young son who shares his love for pro wrestling and Star Wars.  He’s a soccer fan and loves all of Detroit’s sports teams, in good and bad times.  He’s an avid music fan who listens to just about every genre but has a soft spot in his heart for 80s arena rock/hair metal.
