Over the years, the world of television has produced countless unbelievably amazing shows, from shows like the Brady Bunch and Happy Days to The Simpsons, Seinfeld, and The Office. The list goes on and on. One category of TV shows that often gets overlooked is all of the canceled shows! Right now, TV shows have taken a completely different approach than in past decades. Everything needs to be able to be streamed to survive.

The time for TV-only sitcoms is over. If you can’t stream it, you don’t stand a chance. Shows like Stranger Things, The Office, Bridgerton, and Outlander all have benefited tremendously from the age of streaming. Not many people today know that shows like Family Guy and Arrested Development were canceled before being rebooted. Family Guy was canceled more than 3 times before making a strong enough case to remain on the air for more than 20 plus years!

Some Canceled Shows Would Do Better

I believe many TV shows could have had much better ratings and reviews in today’s TV market. Where anyone can stream anything at any time. 2010, if a show could only make the 10 pm slot on Fox on Friday nights, it could only do so well. Nowadays, time is irrelevant to some extent, if the people want to watch the show, they will do it whenever they want! Many canceled shows would have benefitted from this.

The point is certain shows get canceled and deserve better. Thousands of TV shows have been canceled throughout the years, while many were canceled for valid reasons. I wanted to give you a list of the ones the TV companies got wrong! While most shows get canceled due to low ratings, and since low ratings equal low profit, they never get a second shake. Many of these shows suffered in the age of TV schedules and may have fared much better in the current age of streaming. Find out all the best-canceled shows that deserve better!

6 Of The Most Jaw Dropping True Crime Shows

  • Terra Nova

Unfortunately, Terra Nova was cancelled after one season. I myself was a huge fan of the series. A futuristic Earth where we have destroyed the world we inhabit. The only hope is to travel back in time millions of years ago to start over and do things right this time! This show would have benefitted greatly from streaming as I believe the restrictive Fox TV time slot is why the show didn’t have great ratings.

  • The X-Files (1993–2018)

The X-Files is another show so nice it was canceled twice. The show has always had a cult-like following. It was finally cancelled for good in 2018. This is another show that would have done even better if it began in the age of streaming!

  • Blue Mountain State

Blue Mountain State was actually on Spike for 3 seasons before getting canceled. Most people including myself didn’t fall in love with the show until years later when it was picked up by Netflix. Proving that if it was originally released to Netflix, it may still be airing!

  • Daredevil' (2015–2018)

Netflix and Marvel teamed up to create Daredevil in 2015. The show was canceled in 2018. Daredevil was spectacular and beloved by fans and critics alike. It even had 5 Emmy nominations. Fans were very furious when the show was canceled. Many fans got the impression that the show was solely cancelled because Disney Plus was being released around that time.

  • Firefly' (2002–2003)

While Firefly was canceled after just 1 season due to low ratings. Years later the DVD release of the series was so popular that a movie was eventually created in response to the huge demand. One thing is for certain, Firefly would have thrived on streaming platforms today.
