No, no, no. I will not accept the idea that the Detroit Lions are overrated. However, there’s a lot of negative buzz out there – both in Michigan and across the country – after the team’s past two shaky games. Many are saying that the team is overrated. As a lifelong Lions fan who now reports on the team, it’s like a dagger to my heart hearing these bad things about the Lions.

This team has worked hard to get to an 8-3 record. This team has come through in situations that nobody thought they could conquer. So, when asked the question, “Are the Detroit Lions overrated?” My answer is, “No.” But, what do others think?

What does losing to Green Bay mean to the Detroit Lions?

Jeremy Reisman of Pride of Detroit joins Anne Erickson on “The Squad” on the WRIF this week. They have lots to talk about with the past two Detroit Lions games. What does this significant loss against the Green Bay Packers mean to the Lions? Are the Packers going to surprise everyone in the NFL and make it to the playoffs? What about Super Bowl predictions? Also, what does the future look like for Kirk Cousins and the Minnesota Vikings? I’m looking forward to watching the Vikings on Monday Night Football (Nov. 27) but, as as Spartan, I miss Cousins.

On the show, I brought up the fake punk attempt in the Green Bay game, which I felt was the wrong call. Reisman agreed but also said he’s a big fan of Dan Campbell’s aggressive calls. “I’m such a big fan of aggressive head coaching when it comes to fourth downs, so when it comes to something like this, you’ve got to take the good with the band,” Reisman said. “You take some of the over-aggression with the fact that he’s (Cambell) going to go for it more than often in what I think are appropriate situations. I’m with you. I don’t think that it was probably the appropriate situation, but you take the good with the bad with Dan Campbell. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out that time, and yeah, the Packers scored three plays later, and suddenly it’s back to a two-score game.” Reach out to Anne here.

  • Are the Detroit Lions overrated? Jeremy Reisman and Anne Erickson discuss...

Jeremy Reisman of Pride of Detroit joins Anne Erickson on “The Squad” to talk about the recent Lions losses. Is the team overrated? I feel icky even asking that question, but I have to ask. Let’s discuss!

  • Dan is the man...but his crazy calls caught up with him

Dan is the man, but he made one too many crazy calls during that Green Bay Packers game. I have to say that his fourth down calls have almost all gone well this season, but that wasn’t the case on Thanksgiving. Maybe cool it a bit on those fake punts, Dan!

  • What was up with Jordan Love of the Green Bay Packers?

Jordan Love No. 10 of the Green Bay Packers had an incredible game. His mobility as a quarterback made it tough on the Detroit Loins’ defense.

  • Tough time for Jared Goff

Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff has had a rough few games, first against the Chicago Bears and then against the Green Bay Packers. It happens. I think after some rest and a little confidence boost, he’ll be back to his stellar self.

Look at this adorable Detroit Lions fan at the Green Bay game. I love seeing up-and-coming Lions fans. She’s perfect! I hope she didn’t cry when they lost.
