The National Football League has been in existence for over 100 years. Originating in the year 1920 when there were only two teams, the “Decatur Staleys” Which is now known as the Chicago Bears and the “Chicago Cardinals” Which are now the Arizona Cardinals. Over the years the NFL has grown, evolved and prospered more than any other American Sport. Of course, Soccer is the most popular sport worldwide, but American Football is right behind it in terms of profit. Many NFL logos have become some of the most well-known and iconic logos in the world.

While there are 32 teams across the NFL in 2024, it wasn’t always that way. As previously mentioned, there were only 2 teams at one point. This grew over the years with several expansions. Throughout all the growth and name changes, some of the most iconic NFL logos have come out. Something I have always wondered though is what are the best NFL logos? Which team has the best logo?

The Best NFL Logos?

To answer the question of which teams have the best NFL logo you have to first ask how are we defining that? If we went off a list of most “iconic” NFL logos it would look much different. I for one think the Detroit Lions, The Green Bay Packers, The Chicago Bears, Pittsburgh Steelers, San Francisco 49ers and New York Giants as well as a few others would have to be included on the list.

In all honesty however, I feel as though every single logo on that list lacks creativity and flare. I feel as though “iconic” doesn’t equate to “the best”.

To accurately describe which teams, have the best NFL logo we must solely look at it from a creativity and a “fit” point of view. For example, the Atlanta Falcons do not have the most iconic nor the coolest looking logo. However, designing a black and red falcon in the shape of an F is a very creative and well-done logo in my mind. Below you will find what I deem to be the 7 best NFL logos based on these criteria!

  • Houston Texans

For sure one of the coolest logos in the league. Not only that, but the Texans get style points for this one. The shape of a bull with a star for the eye in the lone star state? Pure perfection.

  • Baltimore Ravens

In my humble opinion the Baltimore Ravens have the best logo in all of the NFL. The logo surprisingly has a strong connection to legendary author and poet Edgar Allan Poe.

Poe spent the majority of his life in Baltimore and wrote the dark piece “The Raven”. Beyond the obvious homage to Poe, The Raven in general, strongly embodies strength and sheer dominance. Exactly the things you would want your football team to possess.

  • Carolina Panthers

While one of the newest teams in the National Football League, the Carolina Panthers logo is one of the sharpest. Unfortunately, a “panther” or cougar hasn’t been spotted in the state of Carolina in over 100 years, still the logo is pretty darn cool.

  • Philidelphia Eagles

While I personally despise Philly sports as a whole, The Philidelphia Eagles logo is one of the most recognizable logos in all of sports. It’s by no means a complicated logo, however it is a perfect fit for the franchise. No mistaking it for a seagull…

  • Miami Dolphins

Miami has one of the most definitive logos out there. Nobody is confusing this with a shark that’s for sure. Also, it’s simple and it works. Florida has dolphins off the coast, so Miami Dolphins is a match made in heaven. Plus, Dolphins are pretty strong too. Technically the kings of the ocean the Orcas, are dolphins…

  • Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos logo is one of the sharpest in the league. Its crisp edges make the logo pop and standout. Also, as far as horses are concerned, I think this is one of the more imposing looking logos.

  • Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills logo has to appear on this list for a few reasons. The creativity is a big plus. The Bills franchise is the only team in the league with their city name as their logo. Well at least with the city name turned into an animal logo. The New York Giants have a giant “NY” which is incredibly lame and lacks creativity.

The last reason the Bills logo is one of the best is that is has remained unchanged since 1974 and is likely to never change. It will remain a iconic logo for many years to come in the NFL.
