Creed is hitting the road in 2024. Are they coming to Detroit? (Photo by Kevin Winter/Getty Images)

It was a great year filled with many great rock shows. I recently asked you guys about your favorite concerts of the year. I may have to tabulate the votes and post them soon.

Now, we look forward to next year hoping it can be as good as 2023. Lucky for us, 2024 is poised to be a great year because some of the biggest names in rock are hitting the road for tours in 2024.

It’s going to be hard for 2024 to live up to 2023, but it look like it can be done!

Rock Tours Happening In 2024

Some well-known bands came to Detroit in 2023. We had an epic weekend with Metallica, where they put on two spectacular shows on a Friday and Sunday night. Check out parts one and two of my interview with Metallica’s bassist Robert Trujillo.

We also had a great time at Pine Knob for Riff Fest 2023. Headliners sat this year’s Riff Fest were I Prevail, Bad Omens, and Rival Sons. If you missed out, check out the entire setlist from Riff Fest 2023.

Additionally, we had shows from Godsmack, Staind, Ghost, Greta Van Fleet, Nickelback, Shinedown and more! As you can see, 2024 has a lot to live up to compared to this year.

Thankfully, there are already some massive rock tours hitting the road in 2024. I went through the list and found five of the biggest bands that are hitting the road next year. Picking five was tough! There are so many excellent bands hitting the road next year. Of course, the bands the make the list aren’t necessarily my five favorites. They’re just five of the biggest shows hitting the road, regardless of whether or not it’s a show I’m into. This isn’t about me after all. I’m trying to help you!

Only picking five shows means some great tours got left off the list. Mammoth WVH isn’t on the list but you should be aware of their tour. Godsmack is coming back to the area, as well. Let’s get to the list!

  • Creed

That’s right! Creed is hitting the road again in 2024. Seems like they’re more popular than ever. They are selling a ton of tickets to the tour around the country. They’ll bring the Summer Of ’99 tour with Three Doors Down to Pine Knob on July 31st.

  • Green Day

This is sure to be one of the biggest shows of the year. I’d never thought of them as a “stadium” band, but they’ve proven me wrong. Green Day comes to Comerica Park on September 4th with The Smashing Pumpkins, Rancid, and The Linda Lindas.

  • blink-182

Blink-182 is back at full strength. They just dropped their new album One More Time and now will be hitting the road. They’re coming to Little Caesars Arena on August 12th. I’ve never seen them live. Maybe I’ll change that next year.

  • Limp Bizkit

Limp Bizkit is bringing the Loserville Tour to Pine Knob on July 23rd. You can read more and enter to win tickets here. I love their “Chocolate Starfish…” album. A 90s masterpiece as far as I’m concerned, even if it came out in 2000.

  • Def Leppard

Def Leppard will be coming to Comerica Park on July 18th for a co-headlining tour with Journey. I’m not a big Journey fan, but this bill is a prefect match.
