We asked what your favorite dive bars are in Michigan, and here are some of the favorites. And before it starts, I’m not naming EVERY dive bar in Michigan. If yours isn’t on this list, don’t take it personally. These are just some from listener submissions.

Oh, and dive “rock clubs” don’t count. I think a good dive bar should also sell food.

  • Country pub in gregory

    I’ve been there a few times on the Harley. @cinder1313 on Twitter said “Best fish and chips meal you can eat!”

  • Kozy Lounge

    This place got some posts of approval from you. Jay Adams on FB likes this place. The people at the Kozy voted for themselves too!

  • Cozy Inn

    Since we’re on “Cozy’s”, the Cozy Inn in Brighton got some votes too. Brad Nester posted on FB “The old Cozy… if you know, you know.” Oh, I know.

  • Gusoline Alley

    Another famous Dive Bar in the metro Detroit area. Joe L. on Fb said “Great Juke Box and great beer selection.” Melissa Duncan added “..one of the only original spots still in Royal Oak.” Art Beaver on Twitter also commented on the jukebox. 

  • Gay Bar

    The Gay Bar in Gay, Mi. was a pick from my friend Uncle Buck. “Cheap drinks, pool table and the best entertainment…listening to the local yoopers tell tales.”

  • The New Hudson Inn

    Another place that received multiple comments. Lisa Antosic on FB said they have the best burgers. Linda Carrion said it’s her “Close to home” place. Having been there several times, I do like this place. They also boast to be the oldest bar in Michigan. Cool place.

    NEW HUDSON INN

    Known as the oldest bar in all of Michigan, the New Hudson Inn dates back to 1831. This neighborhood bar serves fresh handcrafted burgers, each with their signature dipping sauce. The Build Your Own Burger option lets you customize your burger and fill it with your choice of premium toppings and a mouthwatering list of dipping sauces.

  • Tommy's

    The guys from Detroit Paranormal Expedition said “Tommy’s in Detroit. Historic, has an underground room that’s sealed and no one knows what’s in it, and of course, it’s haunted.” Of course it is. LOL

  • Bloated Goat

    Wayne Creech recommended this place in Fowlerville. He said they have the best burgers. Ryan Noneya said their fried mushrooms are pretty decent as well.

    Janice on Twitter suggested this midtown bar. “The Bronx Bar in Midtown, dark dive bar with old cool décor , great location too, fun place to go before a concert , love the small little outside area to sit, right on the corner too!”

    Yes, I’ve ridden there several times. And, yes, I’ve had their mashed potato pizza and it’s fantastic! Bruce Shearer reminded me that his band, Shakedown plays there on August 6th.

    Kurt on Fb posted this bar. “Not a fave but the biggest dive ever.” I have a friend who works there,  who’s always posting about this place. 

  • Ye Old Tap room

    Dennis Metz on FB picked this one. “This place has been around since 1912 and looks it! Some seating but hanging at the bar and throwing your shells on the floor is where it’s at! Walls with beer labels posted on them and a floor that’s seen it’s day! Nostalgic in every way!”

    In Brant, Michigan, @AshenHeart666 on Twitter talked up this place. “They are literally a hole in a wall country bar, but they have the best bar grub hands down. On Friday they have $5 half gallon tap pitcher beer for only one hour as a incentive for customers!”

  • The Fillin Station

    Dan Grove on FB choose this one. Located in New Baltimore, Dan said “Good staff and great food.”

  • pontiac lake inn

    On FB, Marie Cook said “BEST BURGERS! Bring cash though.” I have eaten there after a hockey game or two right down the street. 

  • snappers

    Snappers in Fenton is a great place to ride to. Suggested by @thesimplycherry on Twitter, this is a fun place.

  • onondaga tavern

    In mid-state, Michigan, Todd Stanley on FB said “Bikers love it , especially on Thursday night! Great food and great atmosphere, and cheap beer!” Hard to argue that. 

  • fireside inn dive bar

    Located in Redford, it actually have the word “dive’ in its name! Robin Copper on FB says she likes it because it’s right down the street from her house. Solid recommendation. Ha!

  • Kozy korner saloon

    Shelly Cull said this on FB. “They have the best burgers and everyone know everyone in the small town. The employees are great!!!” Hard to argue with that.

    Located in Roseville, Jennifer Golabek suggested this one on FaceBook. “It’s the diviest dive bar of all dive bars!” Well, then I guess it fits this category.

    in the heart of Manchester, I’ve ridden my Harley by this place many times. I’ve also stopped in for a cocktail a few times, too. Chris Lenton said “Great burgers and great open mic night on Wednesdays.”
