101 RIFFS OF SUMMER

It was a hot week, and the riffs were just as hot as the weather. We’re continuing to celebrate the 101 Riffs Of Summer on 101 WRIF, with the most epic “riffs” of all-time.

The week, we featured some of the best to ever rock, from Van Halen to Rival Sons. Make sure to listen Monday through Friday at 2pm for the daily “Riff Of Summer!” Plus, you’ll get two “riffs” on Two-Fer Tuesdays doubling up on some of your favorite WRIF bands.

  • Monday, July 10th

    Rival Sons – “Electric Man”

    Off the band’s fourth studio album, Great Western Valkyrie, in 2014. It was one of three singles released off the album, along with Open My Eyes and Good Things.

  • Tuesday, July 11th

    Dorothy – “Down To The Bottom”

    Released as a standalone single in 2017, it gained popularity after being featured in Forza Horizon 4.

    Dorothy – “Rest In Peace”

    Two-for Tuesday! So we got another great Dorothy riff. Rest In Peace was featured on Dortothy’s third studio album Gifts from the Holy Ghost in 2022.

  • Wednesday, July 12th

    Thrice – “Black Honey”

    This track was released in 2016 as the lead single from the band’s ninth studio album, To Be Everywhere Is to Be Nowhere. The song served as a massive comeback, of sorts, for the band.

  • Thursday, July 13th

    Mastodon – “Show Yourself”

    “Show Yourself” is the band’s highest-charting song to date. It was off their album Emperor of Sand in 2017.

  • Friday, July 14th

    Van Halen – “Hot For Teacher”

    You can’t talk about epic riffs and not bring up Van Halen. “Hot For Teacher” is one of the band’s most popular songs and was featured on their sixth studio album, 1984.
