It may have been a short work week, but the Riffs didn’t stop on 101 WRIF as we celebrate the 101 Riffs Of Summer. The Week 6 playlist featured some of the most iconic riffs of all-time.

From Rage Against The Machine to Judas Priest, we had some absolute classics this week. Make sure to listen Monday through Friday at 2pm for the daily “Riff Of Summer!” Plus, you’ll get two “riffs” on Two-Fer Tuesdays doubling up on some of your favorite WRIF bands.

If you missed any of the “Riffs” this week, check out the playlist below.

  • Monday, July 3rd

The Black Keys – “Howlin’ For You”

Regarded as one of the band’s best songs off of their Grammy winning album, Brothers.

  • Tuesday, July 4th

Rage Against The Machine – “Bombtrack”

Released in 1992, it kicks off their self-titled debut album. It was later released as a single in June of 1993.

Rage Against The Machine – “Killing In The Name Of”

It was released as their lead single off their debut album in 1992. Tom Morello reportedly wrote the riffs while teaching a student to jam, and had to pause the lesson so he could record the riff he came up with.

Judas Priest – “You’ve Got Another Thing Comin'”

It was released on their Screaming for Vengeance album in 1982. The song peaked at number 67 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, their only song to make said chart.

  • Thursday, July 6th

    Ayron Jones – “Supercharged”

Off his 2021 album Child Of The State, the song really highlights Jones’ skills with a guitar.

  • Friday, July 7th

System of a Down – “Toxicity”

The title track of their popular 2001 album. The official music video on YouTube is closing in on 800 million views.
