101 RIFFS OF SUMMER

Due to superstition, some hotels don’t include a 13th floor. You’ll also find the same with hospitals and airports. In fact, according to Otis Elevator Company, roughly 85% of elevator panels (the button board you press) omit the number 13 all together.

However, here at 101 The Riff, we do not fear the number 13. If anything, we totally embrace it. That’s why you won’t find us skipping Week 13 of the 101 Riffs Of Summer. We are committed to these epic “riffs” all summer long, whether rain or shine, Week 1 or Week 13, we’re giving you the Riffs.

About The Riffs

This week of the 101 Riffs Of Summer certainly disappoint. We featured tracks from bands like Aerosmith, Avenged Sevenfold, Alice Cooper, and some bands that don’t start with the letter ‘A.’ Make sure to listen Monday through Friday at 2pm for the daily “Riff Of Summer!” Plus, you’ll get two “riffs” on Two-Fer Tuesdays doubling up on some of your favorite WRIF bands. Jade usually holds down the 101 Riffs Of Summer, but she’s currently enjoying what looks like a beautiful vacation in Cyprus. I had to look it up because, I’ll be honest, I hadn’t heard of Cyprus and I’m not very familiar with it and what it has to offer. After some investigating, it’s as beautiful as it is far away. However, worry not! Aimee Brooks was in for Jade on Friday, so the Riffs kept coming. That’s right. Whether it’s the number 13 or a vacation on the other side of the world, nothing will stop you from getting your daily dose of Riffs.

In previous weeks, we’ve highlighted bands like Rage Against The Machine, Metallica, Jimi Hendrix, and more. The catalogue goes deep and it goes way back, covering all different aspects and angles of rock and roll throughout the years. Great “Riffs” happened back in the ’60s, and they’re still happening today. With the 101 Riffs of Summer, we hope to cover all of your favorites spanning across multiple generations and decades.

If you missed any of the “Riffs” this week, check out the playlist below, along with the playlist from previous weeks, as well. Then, continue reading to hear about an awesome contest with a rocking Grand Prize!
