What a blast at the World Premiere of Metallica’s 72 Seasons album. A HUGE Thank You to Kurt, his family and the great people at the Struggle Within Michigan Metallica Fan Club Chapter. They did an awesome job hosting and spreading the ‘Tallica love with gift bags for every fan that was in attendance to watch the movie.
A couple takeaways from the album after my first listen….
“Lux Æterna” is the fastest song on the album. There’s a lot of “groove” on this record.
“Sleepwalk My Life Away” is my sleeper pick.
“Inamorata” is the shortest 11 minute song I’ve ever heard. Loved it! the longest song in the Metallica catalog.
“Chasing Light” imo, is the weakest song on the record.
“You Must Burn” is a ripper.
“If Darkness Had A Son” and “Shadows Follow” seem like the most personal James songs.
“Crown Of Barbed Wire” is a solid jam.
Overall, I’m giving this album a solid 8 out of 10.
