Bone Heads BBQ in Willis, Michigan combines three of my favorite things: BBQ, a small town atmosphere to ride to, and a rich history. As far as the history, there's all sorts of stories of crazy paranormal things that have happened, not only at Bone Heads, but throughout Willis. You can see more about there here.

I got home to an empty house Tuesday night, so I thought I'd take the Harley out and ride somewhere for dinner. I took the scenic, "no highway" route down the Bone Heads. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, I only get down there a couple times a year, even though it's on a 35 minute ride from my house. I first discovered the BBQ place about ten years ago while driving down 23. I saw a billboard and decided to take the family there. The rustic, old building is the perfect place to take the whole family. Great food, service and atmosphere. Like I said, I don't get there very often, so I was surprised when two of the waitresses recognized me from previous visits. I haven't been there since last summer!

Since I was by myself, I grabbed a spot at the bar. Of course, you have to order BBQ, right? I wasn't down for a huge plate, so I ordered a salad with chicken and pulled pork. It hit the spot!

I love getting a group together to ride there. It's the perfect place to put a few miles on the motorcycle with some friends. If you're in the mood for BBQ, with a touch of the paranormal, head down to Bone Heads....you'll be glad you did!

Another shot of the bar. I was by myself, so I grabbed a barstool and listened to the guys next to me talk Detroit sports.
