Jesse James Dupree of Jackyl

I don’t know about you, but I live for summertime shows, and last nights was perfect! Great weather, great bands, awesome people! Uncle Sam Jam was flawless last night.

Buckcherry ripped through their set…and I mean ripped. What a great, live rock band! Opening up with their classic ‘Lit Up’, they played all the hits, some new tracks off of Vol. 10, closing with a rousing rendition of ‘Crazy Bitch’. They wrapped up around 10pm as the fireworks took over.

Jackyl came on around 10:30, and like the Buckcherry boys, brought it. ‘I Stand Alone’, ‘When Will It Rain’, covers of ‘American Band’ and ‘Suspicious Minds’ while finishing their set with ‘The Lumberjack’. A huge Thank You to Jesse for bringing me up onstage before that final song. That may be the first time I’ve been actually on stage with Jesse since 1992 when he called me up twice. The first time he gave me the actual chainsaw they shot the video with (which we auctioned off for charity) and the second time to moon the crowd…that’s a story for another time.

Props to the openers last night, Let It Ride and Van Go Go. Great bands, killer people!
