Singer Marc LaBelle came up with the name Dirty Honey after hearing Robert Plant mention his band The Honeydrippers in a Howard Stern interview and thought it sounded like a "dirty" rock and roll name.
Guitarist John Notto told Loudersound in June 2021, “We were just nailing it on The Wire,” recalls Notto. “John Mayer was in the next room, and he complained that he could hear our bass, it was bleeding through. And he had to send a note over, like: “Are you guys through?” That was pretty funny.”
