March 2023 Upcoming Tv Shows and Movies!

The level of entertainment being dropped feels like summer’s blockbuster season is here already, check out March 2023 entertainment! The Oscars are coming up on March 12th hosted by Jimmy Kimmel. Mandalorian and the latest John Wick. Usually, this level of entertainment is reserved for the summer months, but there is more than plenty of entertainment as we move into spring.

The Oscars will be interesting as they’ve added a “crisis team” in response to dealing with anything like angry celebrity slaps. My wild imagination has created an assault force like elite Navy Seals with Night-Vision goggles, dangerous weapons, and gritty ex-solider mercenaries! In reality, according to Variety.com, quoted CEO Bill Kramer:

“We have a whole crisis team, something we’ve never had before, and many plans in place,” Kramer said. “We’ve run many scenarios. So it is our hope that we will be prepared for anything that we may not anticipate right now but that we’re planning for just in case it does happen.”

Oscar Crisis Team?

This is comedy gold! Many jokes will be made by the existence of an Oscar “Crisis Team”. Will Jimmy Kimmel reference it as he is the host of the 95th Oscars? What are these “scenarios” they’ve run? Obviously, deranged actors/actresses rush the stage (what’s the response to that? Darts?). What else?

The Academy has received a ton of criticism for their lack of immediate response to last year’s Will Smith slapping Chris Rock. So this crisis team was created to “combat” another wild event like that?

My personal favorites to watch this month are The Mandalorian and the Oscars (just because you got to see what references will be made or shunned). Yeah and I guess it would be cool to see who wins Best Picture.

Here is your coming March movie and television fun:

  • Mandalorian Season 3 March 1st

I have an ongoing nerdy feud with the “dark” side of fans enjoying Andor and Rogue One, but honestly to each their own. But for me, Mandalorian is the spice of Star Wars I need. Mandalorian does everything right by concentrating on what made the original saga so great, high adventure. And here we go again with the adorable Gorgu and Mando! The theme, of this season, seems to concentrate on the Mandalorians and their place in the universe. Coming to Disney Plus on March 1st.

  • Operation Fortune March 3rd

Another movie of Jason Statham doing crazy martial arts, but not exactly. Directed by one of my favorites, Guy Ritchie (Sherlock Holmes, Snatch). Guy Ritchie movies always have plenty of action along with a sense of comedy. Josh Hartnett, I haven’t seen in a while so that’ll be fun too! In theaters on March 3rd.

  • Creed 3 March 3rd

Honestly, I haven’t seen Creed 2, but I did see Creed 1 and it was pretty good. So if you love the Rocky series and want to keep going along vaguely connected paths, this is the movie for you! Adonis Creed, son of Apollo Creed deals with some ghosts from the past. Friends become enemies. In theaters on March 3rd

  • Scream VI March 10th

Scream 6. I thought they were up to 13 by now! Scream has always been about breaking the horror genre by turning it on itself. Talking about horror tropes while actually having them happen. Now they have amped Ghost Face apparently into the supernatural. Is Ghost Face a cult? A monster like Michael Meyers? Both? Find out in theaters on March 10th.

  • 65 March 10th

Adam Driver somehow ends up stranded on Earth 65 million years ago. So he has to face off against the dangers of that time with space-age technology. I love sci-fi and dinosaurs, so I’m definitely intrigued. In theaters March 10th.

  • 95th Oscars March 12th

Jimmy Kimmel hosts the 95th Oscars well protected by the Oscar “crisis team”. Will Top Gun Maverick win Best Picture? Making it even more the greatest movie of all time? Tune in on March 12th on ABC.

  • Ted Lasso Season 3 March 15th

Ted Lasso continues into Season 3. I have not gotten into this show yet, but I hear nothing but good things. Will premiere on March 15th on Apple Tv Plus.

  • Shazam Fury of the Gods March 17th

Working hard to keep that DC multiverse going, Shazam continues his story. Shazam is heavy on comedy and action. The trailer doesn’t really give too much of the plot away, Mostly comedy drops and things exploding! In theaters March 17th

  • John Wick: Chapter 4 March 24th

Ahh! Another installment of Keanu Reeves as John Wick shooting people in the face and crotch! Will this be the end? I have strong feelings about the franchise, but I know it’s all about having a good time eliminating scores of humans in crazy martial arts madness! I would say let’s start a drinking game every time he shoots someone in the crotch or face, but I’d be dead drunk by the end of the trailer! John Wick Chapter 4 will be in theaters on March 24th.

  • Dungeon and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves

Listen, I am a huge nerd and love D&D, but I have huge skepticism about how this may play out. They are dropping in all the fan favorites of D&D of monsters, backed by popular music and semi-famous stars. That sometimes works. If it gets more people and kids interested in Dungeons and Dragons we can call it a win. Hitting theaters on March 31.
