What a show Friday night at Pine Knob! Alice Cooper and Rob Zombie’s Feaks on Parade tour touched down on a hot, sticky summer night.
Alice Cooper Rocks The Knob
Alice rolled through all the classics like Eighteen, Feed My Frankenstein, Poison, No More Mr. Nice Guy, and many more. He also tossed in fan favorites like Go To Hell, and a personal fave of mine (and the late, great Ken Calvert who I thought of when he played it ) The Ballad Of Dwight Frye. Great song!
His set ended with the Coop classic School’s Out, with a special guest bass player. Detroiter Suzi Quatro joined the band on stage to wrap up Alice’s set.
By the way, speaking of the band, Alice’s band just killed it. Always so good!
Rob Zombie Brings The Energy And The Fire
Rob Zombie never disappoints and didn’t Friday night either. Opening with Demon Speeding, right into the White Zombie classic Super Charger Heaven, there was no slowing down after that. Between the screens that showed clips of Zombie’s movies and more, and the fire and pyro, a Rob Zombie show is always a bombastic force.
Another of my favorite lesser-known songs, The Lords Of Salem, was a highlight for me. I’m not a fan of that movie of his, but the song rules!
He mixed up his set with White Zombie classics and wrapped it up with the monster hit Dragula!
Unfortunately, I missed Filter and only caught the end of Ministry.
