Experience Artist-Designed Mini-Golf at Cranbrook Art Museum
Summertime in Metro Detroit is coming, and a new attraction has hit the scene. Cranbrook Art Museum has an artist-designed mini golf course. This 11-hole course offers a playful tribute to Cranbrook’s iconic art and design heritage.
What to expect at Cranbrook Art Museum’s Cranbrook on the Green
Cranbrook on the Green isn’t your typical mini-golf experience. Each of the ten custom-designed holes is a work of art, inspired by Cranbrook’s “art and design.”
According to the museum’s website, visitors receive free admission to Cranbrook Art Museum’s galleries when they purchase tickets to Cranbrook on the Green. All tickets can be purchased online or on-site. Advance reservations are not required.
On Thursday nights, the course is open late with a beer and wine cash bar from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
During museum hours, visitors can grab a drink and snack at Fika Cafe in the museum’s lower-level lounge. Now, offering coffee drinks and summer snacks.

Cranbrook on the Green will be open on weekends in May and September, and during regular museum hours throughout the week in June, July, and August. From May 4th to 26th, the museum is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the last tickets sold at 4:15 p.m. However, the course is closed from Monday to Friday during this period.
From May 29 to September 1, the museum is open on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the last tickets sold at 4:15 p.m. and on Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. with a cash bar available from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. The last tickets are sold at 7:15 p.m. On Fridays through Sundays, the museum is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the last tickets sold at 4:15 p.m., while the course is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
From September 7 to 22, the museum is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the last tickets sold at 4:15 p.m., and the course is closed from Monday to Friday.
The admission prices are $15 for adults, $10 for ArtMembers and Detroit Residents, and $8 for children under 12, which includes gallery admission. Upon arrival, visitors must check in at the Knoll Walkway adjacent to Triton Pool and follow signs to the Art Museum parking lot.
