This series has experts picking spots for which to vote, and then readers voting for their favorites. Whatâs crazy is that no Michigan even made the tally. No. 1 was Picklesburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
But, thereâs a major and amazing food festival on the way, and thatâs the annual National Cherry Festival, set for June 28 to July 5, 2025 in Traverse City. âThe National Cherry Festival, steeped in tradition, resonates Pure Michigan through and through,â they state. âFrom bringing âpureâ local agriculture to the one of Pure Michiganâs premier destinations; to hosting guests in one of Pure Michiganâs most beautiful beach towns, the Cherry Capital of the World Traverse City, the National Cherry Festival is proud be one of Pure Michiganâs brightest gems.â The event always has great musical acts and, yes, cherries.
If youâre looking for a great food festival thatâs outside of the U.S., Travel Triangle in Naples, Italy, ranks Pizzafest the best in the world. âJoin zillions of people on this fine night of September when the village of Naples gear up to make and consume more than 100,000 pizzas of every kind, ranging from 50-odd historic versions including classics Napoletana, Margherita and Marinara,â they note. It makes sense that a pizza festival would take place in Italy, right? They also love Oktoberfest in Germany, noting, âFrom the finest of brews for you to chug, spill, and bathe in, to culinary delights like bratwurst, pretzels, and roasted meats, youâll be spoilt for choice.â
