ESPN’s Jeff Darlington Finds Iguana Responsible For Clogging Toilet
ESPN’s self-proclaimed resident Florida Man, Jeff Darlington, had been dealing with a clogged toilet but it wasn’t your ordinary clog. Turns out, it was an iguana!
Few things can ruin your day like a clogged toilet. You’re going to need it again soon! It’s one of those things that simply has to work! However, it happens to the best of us. Normally, our toilets will clog from using too much toilet paper or trying to flush something we shouldn’t. However, that’s not the case here. Jeff Darlington found an iguana was responsible for his clogged toilet at his residence in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
ESPN’s Jeff Darlington Finds Iguana Responsible For Clogging Toilet
Jeff Darlington, a popular ESPN reporter, took to X (formerly Twitter) to share that the toilets haven’t been effectively flushing for a few days and he had no reason why it was happening. Then, he walked into his bathroom and he found an Iguana looking back at him out of the toilet. In the post he hilariously details, “It tried to go BACK down the toilet pipe… had to grab it by the tail and pull it out.” Ahh, no! You have to do it, though! You can’t risk it going back down and causing even more problems.
Have you ever had to reach your hand into a toilet? I’ve been there and it isn’t my proudest moment. However, what was I supposed to do just let my phone soak at the bottom of the toilet? No way! I quickly grabbed it and put it in some rice so it could dry out. To my surprise, it worked as if it were new after a few hours! I made sure to wash my hands a couple of times afterwards.
That’s Florida! That sort of thing can, indeed, happen as Darlington found out. He’s lucky it was just a friendly little iguana! There was a woman in 2011 who found an alligator in her bathroom. This kind of thing isn’t strictly unique to Florida, either. According to CBS, there was a woman who found a snake in her toilet in the state of Arizona. Yeah, I’d definitely take the Iguana even if it was clogging my toilet.
According to Florida Fish And Wildlife Conservation Commission, green iguana populations stretch along the Atlantic Coast in Broward, Martin, Miami-Dade, Monroe, and Palm Beach Counties. They have also been spotted as far north as Alachua, Highlands, Hillsborough, Indian River, and St. Lucie Counties, per FWC. On his X account, it says that Jeff Darlington lives in Fort Lauderdale so that’s where this incident happened. Thankfully, he was able to safely remove it and his toilet should be working smoothly now.
